Welcome to Brogden Primary School.  I am excited about working with parents and students this year to ensure continuous  improvements in student development both academically and socially.

We are a Positive Behavior Support and Interventions School (PBIS). This year students and staff are being recognized at every turn for displaying and modeling positive behavior. We are continuing our "Under the Sea" theme this school year and continue to promote the idea that "we may all be different fish, but we sink or swim together".  The "Be" Attitudes of BPS which guide our PBIS expectations and rewards are: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe, Be Kind.   Parents, please continue to ask your child to share the current Code of Conduct with you and talk with them about the expectations for behavior and ask them how many "Fish Tickets" they have earned!  With the 2016-17 school year, we will also continue student mentoring programs; "Tender Lamb Care", "Buddy Teacher", and "Manners Do Matter", to ensure that all of our students have an adult advocate within the school!

Brogden Primary School's philosophy of learning is based on the idea that the purpose of education is to provide a continuation of essential learning.  It is our ultimate goal to supply each student with a foundation based on facts and experiences.  This will aid our youth in becoming self-sufficient individuals: mentally, physically, socially, and morally; so they can meet the demands of a rapidly changing and globally competitive society.  It is essential to instill in each student the importance of individual worth and to create a positive self-image through the personal development of initiative, resourcefulness, and responsibility. Our teachers are implementing a sound curriculum, best practices and attending workshops and staff development to consistently meet the needs of our diverse student population. We are excited this year to continue Fourth Grade Quiz Bowl to encourage healthy competition and increased Math performance with our students.

It is the intent of the faculty to lead students toward being self-disciplined, productive, informed, and fulfilled citizens of the 21st century.  To achieve these ideas; mutual respect, professionalism, and understanding must be present in the learning process on the part of all participants- the faculty, students and community.
We encourage our parents to please come out to scheduled Curriculum Nights and Parent Workshops to stay abreast of the expectations for student learning and performance. We invite you to all assemblies recognizing students for attainment of learning and behavior goals! Remember to look for your monthly parent calendar from Mrs. Cynthia Kenion, Parent Involvement Facilitator, to stay informed on dates and times!
